2990 11" Engineer Black
The 2990 Engineer in Black Harness is a classic Red Wing Shoes Engineer boot and is made in Red Wing, Minnesota. The Red Wing Engineer boot was developed for America’s railroad engineers in the early 20th century. Its an all-leather Engineer boot used to protect the engineer’s feet from from the hazards in locomotive cabins. The Red Wing 2990 Engineer boot has split at the top of the shaft that allowed the engineer to bend during work. The Engineer first appeared in the catalog of 1941 as style number 919. The shoe was presented as the ideal boot for engineers as well as truck drivers. This black Red Wing Engineer is made from Harness leather, a natural, heavyweight, full-grain leather with a unique combination of oil and wax.
