The 2991 Engineer Boot in Amber Harness is a classic Red Wing Shoe and is made in Red Wing, Minnesota. The Red Wing Engineer boot was developed for America’s railroad engineers in the early 20th century. The Engineer 2991 is an all-leather Engineer boot used to protect the engineer’s feet from from the hazards in locomotive cabins. The Red Wing Engineer boot has split at the top of the shaft that allowed the engineer to bend during work. The Red Wing Engineer first appeared in the catalog of 1941 as style number 919. The shoe was presented as the ideal boot for engineers as well as truck drivers. This Red Wing Engineer is made from Harness leather, a natural, heavyweight, full-grain leather with a unique combination of oil and wax.
The Red Wing 2991 Engineer boot has a Nitrile Cork Sole and is also available in Black Harness Leather.
